China and Chinese in English Expressions——a semantic analysis

正China is fast shedding its image as a poor and backward country as its modernization drive speeds up. This has a great effect on the attitudes of people inWestern industrial countries towards the country and its people. In English-speaking countries these attitudes are to some extent reflected in the way theyuse the words China and Chinese in forming words and expressions.
