Students'reading comprehension is not only related to their English level ,but also associated with their logical thinking .Students may have a comprehensive understanding of the text by these two skills . However ,more emphasis is placed on the explanation of grammar and vocabulary over cultivating students'logical and critical thinking in traditional English reading course .Through analysis of some texts ,the au‐thor of the thesis aims to cultivate students'logical thinking in English reading classes under the guidance of the theory of discourse analysis ,especially the theory of theme and rheme and thematic progression .%英语阅读能力的提高不仅仅意味着单方面提高学生的英语水平,还必须提高其逻辑思维能力,这样才能对文章有更为准确地理解。传统的大学英语阅读教学侧重于语法词汇的讲解,忽视了对学生逻辑思维能力的培养。将培养学生的逻辑思维能力设为大学英语阅读课程的主要目的,以阅读材料为例,从语篇分析理论出发,运用语篇的主述位理论及主位推进模式对选用的语篇进行解读,,以此提高学生的阅读理解能力。
