泰特勒翻译三原则的汉译再辨正--兼论严复三字原则和泰特勒三原则乃异曲同工之作

The Chinese translation of Tytler’s Three Principles of Translation has been very popular in China, however, the translation of the third principle was not faithful to the original. Professor Guo Jianzhong has amended the translation, but it needs further amendment. The word of“ease” should be trans-lated into Zi Ran Liu Chang (natural and fluent) in stead of Tong Shun (readable). Yan Fu’s translation principle of Xin Da Ya (faithfulness, expressiveness and elegance) is functionally equivalent to Tytler’s Principles of Translation.%泰特勒的翻译三原则的中文译文在中国被广泛引用，是翻译教科书中的金科玉律。郭建中教授在《中国翻译》发表的文章中将翻译三原则的第三原则的译文由“译作应具备原作所具有的通顺”修改成了“译作应具备（目的语）原创作品所具有的通顺”。郭教授的修改比较好地表达了泰特勒的第三翻译原则的确切内涵。深入研究发现，泰特勒的第三翻译原则修改后的译文还必须进一步修改。That the Translation should have all the ease of original composition中的ease不能翻译成“通顺”，可以修改成“自然流畅”。严复的翻译标准也是三（字）原则，和泰特勒三原则乃异曲同工之作。
