摘要

The African American woman Jadine's identity is constructed by Toni Morrison in the novel Tar Baby in the "Third Space" with the context of the post-colonial mixed and intertwined culture,in which the identity is constructed in the process of overlap, competition and negotiation of diverse nations, social interests and cultural values with the characteristics of temporariness and instability. In shaping the identity of Jadine,Morrison aims to point out that the pursuit of their true identity for minorities, who share multicultural sense of belonging and itinerant social identity, cannot trace back to the history of the nation, but should be based on the cross point of different cultures and capture the temporary identity of their own in the collision, hybridity and reconstruction of various relations. It is this unstable identity construction that has deconstructed the "either-or" foundation of the colonial culture.%托妮·莫里森的《柏油孩子》把对非裔美国女性吉丁的身份建构放置在后殖民语境下各种文化混杂、交织的"第三空间"中.
