《等待戈多》中树意象的文学人类学新解

摘要

树意象在《等待戈多》中多次出现，不仅具有传统意义上的舞台造景功能，而且不断地参与剧情，更为引人注目的是，树意象的出现具有强烈而独特的宗教意味。本文将从弗雷泽的《<旧约>中的民俗》中对树意象的阐释入手，参阅圣经中的植物意象，分析《等待戈多》中的树用于标识地点和判定生死的双重性，以及树意象的出现所带来的艺术魅力与宗教内涵。在此基础上，探究生成这种等待状态的思想来源，即是一种弥赛亚观念。%Tree image ,which appears several times in “Waiting for Godot” , not only has the landscape function in the traditional sense of the stage , but also constantly involves in the plot .More strikingly , tree image appears with a strong and unique religious meaning . This paper tries to interpret tree image from James George Frazer's Folklore in the Old Testament , refer to the plant images in the Bible , then analyze tree image which is used to identify the location and determine the duality of life and death in “Waiting for Godot” , and the appearance of tree image can bring the artistic charming and religious connotation . On this basis , it explores the thought source to produce the waiting state , which is the concept of Messiah .
