禁忌是人类社会普遍存在的语言和文化现象。在跨文化交际中，经常会遇到禁忌问题。探讨英汉社交禁忌以及它们在中西方文化内涵中的异同，能使人们顺利地进行跨文化交流，避免不必要的交际失误。%Taboos are common linguistic and cultural phenomena of human society, and they exist frequently in intercultural communications. The comparison about social taboos between Chinese and western culture can tell the similarities and differences and help people to communicate successfully without unnecessary mistakes.
