A novel potentially useful second harmonic generation (SHG)organometallic nonlinear optical crys-tal:cadmium mercury thiocyanate bis(N-methylformamide),CdHg(SCN)4 (C2 H5 NO)2 (CMTN)has been pre-pared,and large highly-optical quality single crystals with dimensions up to 30 mm×27 mm×9 mm have been grown by the temperature-lowering method.The structural,physicochemical,thermal decomposition and opti-cal properties are characterized by elemental analyses,X-ray powder diffraction,Fourier transform infrared and Raman spectroscopy,thermal analysis and UV/Vis/NIR transmission.CMTN possesses good physicochemical stabilities up to 128.5 ℃,and the UV transparency cutoff was 358 nm.%在以水和N-甲基甲酰胺的混合溶剂中制备了一种潜在的二阶非线性光学晶体:二 N-甲基甲酰胺合硫氰酸汞镉(CdHg(SCN)4(C2 H5 NO)2(CMTN));用溶液降温法生长出了尺寸为30 mm ×27 mm ×9 mm的较高光学质量的单晶体。采用元素分析、粉末衍射、红外和拉曼光谱、热分析和紫外/可见/近红外透过光谱表征了它的结构、物理化学、热分解和光学性质。该晶体在128.5℃开始分解,其紫外截止波长为358 nm。
