The Korean government ambitiously started the World Premier Materials (WPM) project to become the fourth materials power in the world. The WPM-project is a project to develop ten core materials. Through the project, Korea expects to make its own material brand and to create a new green growth engine. It is intended to give Korea continuous market power in the world when it comes to the first and top-class commercial materials, which would create 32,000 new jobs and great economic benefit. As a vital subject of this project, smart coating steel plate is in charge of POSCO, developed by electromagnetic levitation and induction heating.
