THE ANALYSIS OF CELL LOSS RATES IN AN ATM MUX WITH LOSS PRIORITIES

摘要

The analysis of cell loss rates in an ATM Mux with loss priorities is an important problem in the-study of traffic control in ATM networks. In this paper, the loss rates of the cells with different priorities in an ATM Mux are analyzed by approximating the actual input process with two-state MMDP and fluid flow technique, and the analytical expressions of the relation between the loss rates and the buffer size are obtained. Simulation shows that the approach is sulliciently accurate for applications.
