The crystal structure shows that two crystallo- graphic independent Standberg -type[ HPEMo5 02323 ] s- anions and five protonated H2bbi ligands are interlinked into one dimensional chain by hydrogen bonding interactions, Moreover, the title compound exhibits blue emis- sion in the solid state at room temperature.
