非洲虚拟大学的建设与发展及当前面临的挑战

摘要

Africa Virtual University （AVU）has made great contribution to the improvement of the overall quality of African higher education by introducing global educational resources and offering various short and long-term courses for African students. However, the dominance of western countries upon knowledge and finance has deteriorated the imbalanced development of higher education between the South and the North, the costly tu- ition has widened the gap between the rich and the poor, and the university isomorphism and homogeneity has re- duced the efficiency of AVU, all these constituting the critical challenges that AVU faces at current times.%非洲虚拟大学将全球优质教育资源引入到非洲大陆，为提升非洲高等教育的质量做出了卓越贡献。但西方国家对虚拟大学的知识与资金垄断加剧了南北之间高等教育发展的不平衡，高昂的学费扩大了社会的贫富差距，课程与教学的弊端导致学生辍学率居高不下，与传统大学的同质化则减损了运作效率，这些是非洲虚拟大学当前面临的重大挑战。
