Regarding 3 bus rapid transit (BRT} routes in Hangzhou city as the study case, the paper analyzes and evaluates BRT route building and its operation effect by field survey, data observation and questionnaire survey. It points out that though BRT is one of the important methods of optimizing the urban transit system, its construction should act according to local urban conditions, and think over urban spatial structure, urban development mode, urban road network system which should be combined with other public transit to set up an efficient and orderly urban public transit system.%以杭州市3条BRT践路为案例,通过现状调查、数据观测和问卷调查,对其线路建设与公交运行状况进行分析与评价,认为虽然BRT是优化大城市公共交通体系的重要途径之一,但其建设必须因地制宜,与城市发展特征相结合,在建设策略上充分考虑城市空间结构、城市发展模式、城市路网体系,并与其他公交工具有机结合,共同构筑高效有序的城市公交系统.
