Through the investigation and analysis of the Confucius institute, on the one hand , this paper summed up the designer's thinking way and method; on the other hand, it explains the applications of the decorative element In the building, and the main focused in architectural design of traditional decorative element to the application of thinking on depth. This paper argues that at least three kinds of techniques used by innovating the application such as by the direct processing transformation, the organic combined with extraction element and reference to abstract refining principle of the design technique. It realized traditional and modem dialogue. These decorative elements used in architecture and environmental design played an important role in expressing an important cultural architecture design thought and the shape of artistic conception of space.%通过对孔子研究院的调研分析,一方面总结其设计者的思路和设计方法:另一方面,阐述该建筑对传统装饰元素的应用,并重点结合其应用展开深度思考；该文认为,该设计至少采用了三种手法加以创新应用,包括:直接加工转化运用,提取元素有机结合,抽象提炼原理借鉴.这些设计手法实现了建筑设计中传统与现代的对话,对文化建筑中设计思想的表达以及空间意境的营造起到了重要作用.
