The screw with left-hand and right-hand thread, and the shuttle-shaped sliding pin are the oasic elements on a screw-type spooling gear. In this paper, the relationship of motion and joint between these elements are analyzed. The author point out that the interfacial contact between the elements under normal running condition is impossible. The formulas for calculation about the relative dimensions of these elements, such as the screw pitch, the radius of transition groove which is on beth ends of the screw and used to guide the pin to exchange moving direotion, the outline of the pin, eto, are derived.
