An Adaptive Antenna Utilizing Minimum Norm and LCMV Algorithms

摘要

This paper introduces a new structure based on the minimum norm and Linearly constrained minimum variance (LCMV) algorithms to highly suppress the jammers to the Global positioning system (GPS) receiver. Minimum norm can assign a deep null blindly to the jammer direction, also it doesn't introduce any false nulls like other algorithms do. So combining it with LCMV algorithm give a structure capable of adjusting the weights of the antenna array in real time to respond to the signals coming from the desired directions while highly suppresses the jammers coming from the other directions. The simulations were performed for fixed and moving jammers. Two jammers are used one of power -100dBW, the other is-120dBW. The nulls depths attained by Minimum norm alone are 88.4dB for the strong jammer and 45dB for the weak one. The simulation indicates that the new structure can give deeper nulls to the jammers directions, more than 114dB nulls depths for both jammer when they come from fixed directions and about 103dB nulls depths when they come from moving directions. The new structure not only improves the nulls depths but also can control the nulls depths. In addition, it can control the antenna gain in the directions of the useful GPS Signals.
