The Power System Department (PSD) is the largest pro-fessional research and development organization oncomprehensive power system planning,engineering and operationof the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) of the Ministry ofEnergy.The active RD & E of PSD are composed of the followingfive major areas.Power system analysis,software development & application,automatic devices,DC transmission,generation & transmissioncommission,modern laboratories for RD & E and electrical appara-
