Plasma ignition technique for pulverized coal boiler enters commercial utilization

Since 2000, plasma ignition and stable combustion technique has been developing rapidly. Up to April 2005,the technique had found applications in one hundred and thirty coal-fired units of large power plants, of which there were forty 600-MW units, thirty-five 300-MW units, twenty 200-MW units, twenty-five 125-MW and 100-MW units and nine 50-MW units. Their total capacity reached over 40,000 MW and fuel included lean coal, bituminous coal and brown coal.
