＜正＞ Syringa oblata is an excellent timber species,in addition ,the seeds have medicinal proper-ties and aromatics are extracted from the flowers . S. oblata is one of the most common treespecies utilized by horticulturists in Northern China. However ,in the past 2-3 years, plant-ings in Beijing have not grown well, and have exhibited a series of disease symptoms, includ-ing rattling leaves, witches’ brooming, plus new shoot, bud, and flower development in au-tumn. There is also a high percentage of chlorotic twigs and leaves, and the trees lose vigor.
