ObjectiveTo evaluate the calmodulin (CaM) activities of erythrocytes and the possible causes toinfluence the changes of CaM levels in type 2 diabetic (DM2) patients.Methods 70 patients with DM2 were studied.Of the 70 patients, 46 were treated with only oral hypoglycemic agents (OHA) (32 treated with sulfonylureas, 20treated with biguanides, 4 treated with Acarbose).24 were on insulin or insulin+OHA for more than three weeks.Themeasurement of soluble CaM of erythrocytes was performed by the methods of Wallace RW.Results ①)The activities ofsoluble CaM of erythrocytes in DM2 were significantly lower than that in normal subjects ( P <0.05).②)There weremarked differences in the activities of soluble CaM between OHA-treated DM2 and normal controls (P <0.05).③)Multiple stepwise regression analysis of CaM activities in erythrocytes of DM2 showed that soluble CaM activities werenegatively correlated with age, BMI and positively correlated with fasting insulin level.Conclusion The soluble CaMactivities of erythrocyte in DM2 were markedly diminished.Insulin, but not OHA, treatment may restore the solubleCaM activity of erythrocyte in DM2.%目的对2型糖尿病患者红细胞胞浆中可溶性钙调素(CaM)的活性及其影响因素进行观察。方法研究对象为70例2型糖尿病住院患者,其中46例单用口服降糖药(OHA),磺脲类治疗32例,双胍类治疗20例,拜唐苹治疗4例;24例使用胰岛素(Ins)或Ins+OHA治疗3周以上。红细胞胞浆可溶性CaM用纯化PDE法测定。结果①2型糖尿病患者红细胞胞浆中可溶性CaM活性明显低于正常对照组(P<0.05)。②Ins治疗组CaM活性与正常组比较无显著性差异(P>0.05);而OHA组CaM活性较正常组显著降低(P<0.05)。③多因素分析显示2型糖尿病患者红细胞胞浆中CaM活性与年龄、体重指数(BMI)呈负相关,与空腹Ins水平呈正相关。结论2型糖尿病患者红细胞胞浆中可溶性CaM活性明显降低,而Ins治疗可使其红细胞胞浆中可溶性CaM活性有所恢复。
