A sophorose lipid from microbial conversion of oleyl alcohol

Using oleyl alcohol as carbon source for the cultivation of yeast Torulopsis sp. a rnodified sophorose lipid waslsolated as the mroor product. This product was characterized as the octadecyl derivative by IH NMR and FAB-MSHydrogenation gave an octadecyl esterf 0ctadecy117 -L - [ (2 -0- β-D-glucopyranosyl-D-gl u c0pyranosy ctade can0ate6 .6"-diacetate.
