摘要

IntroductionIt is generally agreed that motivation is one of the most important factors influencing the learner’ssuccess or failure in learning a language.This article aims at producing background informationabout some aspects of research into motivation as well as implications for English teaching in China.Due to limitations of space,the implications are intended only for those in the field of Englishlanguage teaching for non-majors at tertiary level.
