摘要

Ink and wash painting, or Chinese Shui-mo painting, traditionally hinges on concepts and techniques of brushstrokes and freehand style. However, Li Gang peels those concepts and techniques off from his paintings, making concrete images of birds, flowers and landscapes fade.Only traces of water and ink, which are irregular variations in a regular array, infuse changes, agility and rhythm into a lifeless piece of medium.
