A BRIEF INTRODUCTION TO PROF. CHEN YIYU, A NEWLY APPOINTED VICE PRESIDENT OF THE CAS

摘要

Prof. Chen Yiyu, ichthyologist and animal taxonomist by profession,was originally a research fellow with the CAS Institute of Hydrobiology in Wuhan City,Hubei Province.On June 12,1944, he was born in Xianyou County, Fujian Province.In July 1964,he graduated as a major in biology from Xiamen University and was assigned to conducting research work at the Wuhan Institute. For many years he was engaged in research on fish,and on many occasions he went to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and Hengduan Mountains to conduct field sur-
