Percutaneous coronary intervention has been key to the development of the drug-eluting stent, and has allowed for the rate of in-stent restenosis to drop below 10%. Biodegradable and bioabsorbable stents aim to provide temporary mechanical support to the vessel wall and subsequently dissolve. After which, vascular integrity and function are restored. This article examines progress made on biodegradable scaffolds and metal bioabsorbable stents.%冠状动脉粥样硬化性心脏病介入治疗已发展至药物洗脱支架时代,使血管再狭窄率降至10%以下,由于金属支架在体内长期留存可能会引发晚期不良反应.
