God calls all believers to go and make disciples, but the majority of Christians do not take part in the Great Commission. Believers remain content to show up to a church service and learn about God without fully having to commit to a life of sacrifice. God's purpose for humanity hinges on the command to love him and other people. In John 15:13--14 Jesus says, "Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you" (ESV). Jesus commanded his followers to go and make disciples, but too often pastors take on the role of elite evangelists instead of training believers in a local church to make disciples where God has placed them.;Pastors must address the problem of Christians not participating in the call to go and make disciples. Churches train congregants for knowledge, but not for action. Education takes precedent over action, so pastors do not train believers to truly invest in the lives of lost people. A focus on teaching and equipping people, particularly students in this scenario, encourages Christians to get involved in their domains and areas of influence.;Training students in an organic disciple-making model means teaching them to invest in current surroundings and situations. The nine students trained grew in knowledge, understanding, and ability to effectively communicate the need for disciple-making. Beyond an education, the project director equipped the students to live and make disciples in specific domains geared with a teachable model.
