This dissertation is an academic requirement, the final submission for the doctoral degree in the College of Education at Wilmington University and satisfies the assessment for courses EDD9000 and EDD9001. The following pages contain a dissertation, an Executive Position Paper that examines the culture, the condition and the cure in regards to renewal and retention in the Charlton College of Business of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, located in North Dartmouth, Massachusetts.;The dissertation consists of three chapters with the first chapter discussing the culture of today's university students, focusing upon the Millennial Generation and specifically the first-year student. The second chapter examines the condition of curriculum and retention realities in the Charlton College of Business at UMass Dartmouth. The concluding chapter presents eighteen recommendations as a result of the research and experience, not just for information but for transformation.;The dissertation contains the results of mixed methods research with quantitative and qualitative components. The quantitative research is ex-post facto data coupled with the qualitative narrative, based on the author's experience serving as a full-time lecturer in the Charlton College of Business at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
