Historically the management of physical assets has for a long time been confused with the maintenance management until the appearance in 2004 of the collection of good practices for physical asset management promoted by PAS 55. Henceforth, good physical asset management must include all other components of the enterprise including maintenance, following a holistic view. In addition, the choice of a good maintenance policy is crucial for optimizing the performance of physical assets.;The challenge faced today by the maintenance function is to overcome technological design increasingly complex of physical assets to ensure optimal and perpetuated performance. These intelligent and sometimes multi-site physical assets are challenging the traditional predictive maintenance and CMMS. The advent of cloud-based predictive maintenance overcomes the limitations of traditional predictive maintenance as well as those of CMMS. Better, this new form of contemporary service allows companies to invest in improving the maintenance process rather than maintenance operations. It impacts significantly the management of physical assets in terms of safety, cost, time and resources.;Despite the advantages describing the technical and economic opportunities demonstrated by such a new form of maintenance, companies struggle to adopt it and solution designers offering this type of maintenance are faced the inability to sell their product. The protagonists (vendors and prospects) seem less equipped to counter the non- adoption of this form of maintenance. If designers of such an innovative solution understand well and deploy a kit of technical-economic opportunities to inform their prospects, they will probably be convinced of the significant advantages of the cloud-based predictive maintenance and opt for adoption. Thus, solution designers with this new form of maintenance can better promote and sell their product to their prospects. The technical-economic tools developed in this paper represent our proposals to meet these assumptions.
