Due to the decline in employer retirement pension plans from 2003 to 2012 and the negative social opinion of government policies has caused a major downward shift in employee pension participation. The largest working group the middle-class is becoming increasingly poorer and constantly moving into poverty. The goal of this study was to determine how the middle-class and consumers can successfully maintain their standing and maintain a reliable retirement plan. This research studied the lived experience of the middle-class and explored the different levels of education, socioeconomic status, and family backgrounds. The study's 16 participants are aged from 21 to 65 work part-time or full-time and make less than $40,000 annually. The researcher utilized the United States Census Bureau and Social Security Administration statistical data bases as a guide for the study accuracy.;The findings of the study indicated that middle-class have changed their values towards retirement, housing, medical, government financial policies, retirement saving and education because of inflation and job salary. The participants shared the same worries and concerns towards the evolution of financial planning and were concern with rising unemployment rates, job security, reduction of military, rising costs for housing, education, medical, utilities, and food. Half of the participants were learning new jobs for higher wages and job security.
