Adventure and therapy: A training guide for adventure facilitators.

摘要

The purpose of this project is to offer a training curriculum for adventure facilitators who work in adventure therapy settings and do not have a clinical background. The information presented in this training is broad enough to apply to various adventure therapy settings and populations. It can also serve facilitators with novice to advanced skill levels in facilitation. The training explores five key areas of facilitator skill development. These areas include a theoretical and clinical framework, transferring learning, and how to enhance the methods facilitators use to transfer learning. The final section offers an opportunity for readers to apply the material through the presentation of case studies. The case studies are based on examples of possible behavioral situations that arise during the adventure group process. The reader can use these examples to determine how to handle each situation.
