摘要

A park master planning Geographic Information System (GIS) application utilizing ARC /INFO was developed to provide park planners a more efficient, accurate, and flexible park planning tool. This documented GIS application builds upon current park master planning methodologies of data collection, data analysis, and data reporting with current technology. Overlay analyses were conducted across GIS thematic layers to produce geographic output of park development constraints and areas which met development constraints. The final park master plan then was added to the GIS as thematic layer. A wide variety of data including field data and currently available data was collected and brought into the GIS. The final result is a documented application of GIS technology added to the current body of park mater planning tools.
