A narrative discussing the impact of child sexual abuse on a Vietnamese-American.

This paper explored the writer's experience of surviving child sexual abuse in narrative format. The narrative reviewed how previous life history, culture, and support systems influenced the writer's ability to deal with the impact of sexual abuse and how her childhood experience shaped her decision to enter the field of social work. An extensive literature review is done on issues of child sexual abuse, Asian culture, cultural implications, and the relevance of narratives. The writer will discuss lessons learned through the narrative process and the implications of this report to the field of social work.
