摘要

Various methods of process control are used in industry today. Some new methods of control can be costly and may not be required to achieve the desired results. Many times new control methods are applied in conjunction with optimization software or new hardware, which may be the largest contributing factor to improved control.;This study compares PI-Control, PI-Control with decoupling, and DMC in an effort to determine the relative improvement that can be gained from each.;An ideal binary distillation tower has been modeled and has successfully demonstrated improved control with PI-control decoupling over conventional PI-control, while Dynamic Matrix Control implementation was only partially successful.
