Computer simulation of magnetic tape recording.

摘要

Various phenomena in magnetic tape recording are studied. The objective is to understand the complicated recording process from the underlying magnetization level. In the course of this work, a Vector Particle Hysteresis Model was used to describe the write process, and a micro-magnetic MR head model was developed to study the nonlinear read back process. The topics studied include: write equalization, effects of head field rise time, dropouts, and track edge recording.
