The relations among school violence factors (school violence perceptions, school violence experiences and personal safety concerns), school climate, school anxiety, GPA, and achievement value were investigated with a sample of middle school students. Multiple regression and path analysis revealed that school climate predicted all school violence factors as well as school anxiety, which in turn predicted academic value in an inverse manner. School climate indirectly predicted academic value mediated by school anxiety. Grade level predicted personal safety concerns and school anxiety, and gender (males) predicted school anxiety. None of the variables predicted GPA, and ethnicity was not significant.
