Redesign of a continuous perfusion roller bottle bioreactor.

摘要

Continuous Perfusion Roller Bottle (CPRB) Bioreactors are important for cell growth economy. The main problems with the existing prototype are; materials corrosion, lack of ball bearings to support loads and the cumbersome size. This thesis analyzes these problems and incorporates improvements into a new prototype. Sufficient data to support the selection of materials is provided and a discussion of the results of flow testing and measurement provide an indication of the operating characteristics of the new prototype.
