Child welfare is rewarding, yet demanding profession. Case management practitioners have been identified as those at high-risk for developing burnout due to daily job stressors faced while in the administration of client case management responsibilities. The study examined the relationship between burnout, job satisfaction, perceived supervisor support and work environment. The intent of the study was to show a correlational relationship between the potential of burnout and effects of job satisfaction, perceived supervisor support and work environment. The results of this study are contrary to the theoretical model used in this study. Based on the previously reported relationships between increased supervisory support as measured by the WES instrument and decreased burnout as measured by the MBI instrument, this study revealed no such significant relationship. Based on the previously reported relationships between increased positive work environment as measured by the WES instrument and decreased burnout as measured by the MBI instrument, this study revealed no such significant relationship. Finally, based on the previously reported relationships between increased burnout as measured by the MBI instrument and decreased job satisfaction as measured by the MSQ instrument, this study revealed no such significant relationship. As a result of the findings, none of the alternative hypotheses can be accepted in this research study.
