论证理论视角下的政治语篇分析——对奥巴马关于国土安全讲话的批判话语分析

摘要

批判话语分析(criticaldiscourseanalysis，简称CDA)，又称为批判语言学。是现代语言学的一个分支，其功能在于揭示语言、人类心理和社会三者之间的关系，是揭示社会现象的一种重要工具。
　　鉴于CDA的跨学科特征，伊萨贝拉.菲尔克拉夫和诺曼.菲尔克拉夫在研究政治话语分析时提出将批判话语分析与论证理论相结合，发展出了新韵分析框架。论证理论的主要目的在于研究说话者如何构建和推动其论点，从而取得他人对该论点的支持。本文在这些理论的基础上，围绕两个问题对奥巴马关于国土安全的讲话进行分析:1)奥巴马在多大程度上操纵了听众？2）奥巴马试图传播的意识形态是什么？
　　论文的分析对象由三个部分组成:1）奥巴马对整个语篇的概括性介绍;2）奥巴马对关闭关塔那摩监狱的论证;3）奥巴马对如何平衡国家安全和信息透明的论证。论文的分析由两个步骤组成:1)解构和重建语篇;2）从三个角度，即:逻辑角度、对话角度和修辞角度来评价重建后的语篇。
　　本文的分析结果有:1）论证理论为CDA分析权力和意识形态提供了新的视角，有利于加强CDA的批判性，并且增加了CDA理论工具的选择;2）该语篇的对话要素较少而修辞要素较多，说明了奥巴马具有明显操纵观众的倾向;3）奥巴马试图传播的意识形态是，布什政府的反恐政策是不利于国土安全的，在此基础上，塑造出奥巴马政府是一个纠错者的形象，从而增强自己的统治基础。
　　本文的理论意义在于:将菲尔克拉夫夫妇的分析模型应用于奥巴马演讲的语篇分析当中，进一步证明了论证理论在实际CDA研究中的有效性。在英语教学方面，由于本文介绍了一些西方逻辑学的思想，从而在议论文写作方面也能给英语学习者提供一些启发。
