陶瓷专门用途英语的语言特征及对陶瓷专门用途英语教学的启示

摘要

陶瓷专门用途英语，又被称为陶瓷英语，是专门用途英语的一个重要分支，是针对陶瓷行业从业人员使用的专业英语。随着中国陶瓷产业的迅猛发展、陶瓷工业技术的日新月异以及陶瓷文化国际交流的日益频繁，对既懂陶瓷专业知识又精通英语的复合型人才的社会需求越来越大，由此带来的精通陶瓷专门用途英语专业人才极度匮乏的问题便显得格外突出。针对这一问题，景德镇陶瓷学院自1999年开始在英语专业开设了陶瓷专门用途英语课程，以此来满足陶瓷相关行业对外人才培养的需求。然而，目前针对陶瓷专门用途英语的研究绝大部分还停留在陶瓷专门用途英语本体研究的局限，极少涉猎陶瓷专门用途英语的教学领域。
　　本文以陶瓷专门用途英语研究的理论基础为指导，阐述了专门用途英语和陶瓷专门用途英语的定义与分类、陶瓷专门用途英语与普通英语的关系以及国内外对于陶瓷专门用途英语的研究成果。通过描述和分析陶瓷专门用途英语在文体、词汇、文化和跨学科四个层面的语言特征，论证了陶瓷专门用途英语文体的多样性、术语的多义性和不确定性、丰富的中国文化内涵和多学科的兼容性。通过问卷和采访的调查及数据统计分析，发现并总结了陶瓷专门用途英语在教学中存在的问题和不足，并有针对性地提出了改善陶瓷专门用途英语教学的建议，为将来的陶瓷专门用途英语教学以一定的启示。
　　本研究旨在引起各专家学者对陶瓷专门用途英语教学实践的关注和重视，提高其教学的成效，培养出更多的精通陶瓷专门用途英语的专业人才以满足陶瓷相关领域内的人才需求。同时，本文对陶瓷专门用途英语语言特征的阐述能进一步充实专门用途英语的语言内涵，有助于专门用途英语在其它学科和专业领域的迁移借鉴。
