Micro display devices such as Liquid Crystal On Silicon (LCOS), Organk Electrotaminance Device(OELD), and Ferro-electric Liquid Crystal Device(FLCD) have been developed for future projection display system nowadays, and all of them require the display column and row driver circuit called a 'back-plane'. This circuit should feature simplicity in its structure, while to cope with the demand of high contrast ratio of the display. In this paper, a novel display driver with double buffer structure and its driving method is presented. The proposed driver gives not only a simple structure, but also high contrast ratio in a real LCOS display. To drive the proposed circuit, the image processing algorithm has been implemented via a FPGA chip, and the eiperimental results are presented in the One-panel LCOS Rear Projection system.
