On-board satellite systems are affected by radiation, randomly causing memory bits to flip their value, generating errors in the system. This problem requires of the use of robust solutions for the systems. Furthermore, due to the evolution of the scale of integration of circuits, it is expected that radiation will be a serious problem on the next future devices used in the Earth. So, alternative robust algorithms are being tested in space experiments. In this paper, a neural network implementation of a binary detector is tested for fault tolerance. Due to its outstanding results, this Neural Detector is being embarked in an on-board satellite experiment by June, 1999.
