Status and Future of Hydrophilic Feedstocks

This paper reviews the subject of hydrophilic feedstocks used to produce the world's surfactant actives. Usually much attention is paid to the hydrophobe. However, without a reliable, economic supply of key hydrophiles, there is no surfactant. It is of interest, therefore, to look at what the future may hold for key hydrophilic feedstocks.
