Copper rod rolling lubricants―the effect of quench characteristics on rolling performance

This technical paper demonstrates the relationship between soluble copper rod rolling lubricant quench characteristics, and their effect on rolling mill roll performance. It looks at the emulsion-cooling curve, vapor blanket formation and the speed of quench, demonstrating the critical affect of these areas to the maintenance of key cooling characteristics for optimum rolling performance.
