Multiwire drawing is highly dependent upon machine design, which includes effective synchronization. Optimum wiredrawing die geometry is also critical in meeting the optimization criteria. Another key factor in the process optimization is the quality of the copper wire. This is affected by rod chemistry, which is a function of the source and quality of the cathodes used to make the rod, the optimization and type of continuous casting process, as well as the impact of the rod breakdown machine wiredrawing practice on the internal defects of the feed wire. Last but not least is the quality of the wiredrawing emulsion and efficiency of the filtration system.
