Enbridge Gas Distribution Inc., with head office inrnToronto, Ontario has approximately 350 Industrialrnand Institutional customers who own medium orrnlarge steam plants.rnThis report is an up-date of the results of Enbridge'srn"Steam Saver" program first introduced in 1997.rnThe goal of this program is to reduce fuelrnconsumption in industrial steam plants andrndistribution systems.rnWe have now completed 92 detailed boiler plantrnperformance tests and audits. Furthermore, ourrnenergy partners Spirax-Sarco Ltd., and Preston-rnPhipps Inc. (Armstrong) have completed 216 steamrntrap surveys, testing and evaluating the condition ofrnmore than 41,000 steam traps.rnA description of the commercial and regulatoryrnstructure under which Enbridge operates and makesrna profit, is also presented in this paper.rnThis paper also includes a Steam PlantrnBenchmarking study which provides detailed datarnon costs and performance of 25 medium and largernboiler plants.
