The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) hasrnextensive radiological capabilities for assuring a safe foodrnsupply. The Office of Regional Affairs (ORA) has officesrnaround the country with personnel that are highlyrnexperienced at collecting and analyzing food samples.rnORA also maintains the Winchester Engineering andrnAnalysis Center, an internationally-renown radiologicalrnanalysis facility, in Massachusetts. The Center forrnDevices and Radiological Health has a cadre of certifiedrnhealth physicists who provide health physics expertise forrnon-going activities and emergency response. The Centerrnfor Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN) directsrnfood monitoring programs and maintains a radiologicalrnanalysis facility to meet unique radiological needs of thernAgency.
