IN-PLANT EVALUATION OF JETCLEANER METAL CLEANING EFFICIENCY

Novelis PAE launched an in-line trough degassing technology called Jetcleaner on the market in 2001. It offers casthouses an alternative to spinning rotor technology with benefits in terms of simplicity, production and maintenance costs while eliminating the issue of static capacity at the end of the cast. Melt quality measurements conducted at BON-L confirmed the good degassing efficiency, together with a significant filtration effect. This makes Jetcleaner a low cost solution, meeting real casthouse needs such as daily alloy changes, or the search for simplicity and economy.
