Promotion of the Outgrowth of Spinal Fibers by Transplantation of Lamina Propria of Olfactory Mucosa Following Spinal Cord Hemisection in Adult Monkeys

LP, as olfactory ensheathing cells, are capable of facilitating the outgrowth of the central nerve fibers through a lesion site. The possible origination for these fibers in the lesion sites could be the sprouting from uninjured axons in the contralateral side to the initial lesion.
