This paper investigates the behaviour of a dynamic gravity model and a dynamic? logit-based trip assignment model, both suggested by Dendrinos and Sonis (1990). The two models describe the variations of traffic flows in, respectively, an O-D network and a road network at discrete time periods. Equilibrium and oscillatory behaviour are found in the two models. The stability of the e-quilibrium in the two models is analyzed. Chaos is found in the dynamic gravity model and is characterized by positive Liapunov exponents and fractal dimensions.
