The Use of Eaves Wind Turbines in the Ecological Hotels

Currently in Cuba the construction of ecological hotels is in the stage of development Cuba has wide conditions for the tourism development due its beautiful and attractive beaches,coral reefs,exuberant nature,mountains,important waterfalls and a wide animal life Among the characteristics of this kind of Ecological Hotels is its friendly design with the environment At the same time,the wide use of renewable energy is important in this kind of facility in order to achieve the conditions of “ZERO EMISSION” of “ENERGY PLUS”,using the renewable energy resources in the site of location of ECOLOGICAL HOTELS.This paper presents the study carried out for the design of eaves Wind turbines(tipo Savonius or conventional type)which have been used for electricity supply in the facility.The paper explains the different Cuban designs of eaves wind turbines and the studies and searches of other technologies for using in the Ecological Hotels coming from Spain,Canada,Argentine and Germany among others This work presents the mean wind parameters in different regions of Cuba and the site more favorable for the construction of this kind of hotels including the foreign investments.The paper details the possible use of other renewable energy sources such as photovoltaic panels and biogas basically.The bioclimatic designs are also analyzes due the climatic conditions of the country,the sun and wind energy possibilities and also the geothermal energy In the conclusions the paper emphasizes in the use of eaves wind turbines,the selection of its designs and the possibilities of working with foreign partners.The author of this paper is the promoter of this type of hotels in Cuba,adviser and renewable Energy expert who will answer the questions related to this theme arises during the event.
