Thermal Energy Storage by Coal Power Plant to Reduce Haze and Wind Power Curtailment

摘要

With the intensifying of grid connection problem and production curtailment for wind power,wind power storage is drawing more attentions.The conventional energy storage method,like battery,could not be applied commercially due to high cost and technological immaturity.Thermal energy storage can be used in wind power application.The electricity from wind power can be converted into thermal energy and stored.It will be turned back through steam turbine when needed.To increase efficiency,combined heat and power generation is used in this application,which is more valuable in the areas of Northeast China and Inner Mongolia.These places are feathered by high wind speed,high heat demands and severe wind power output curtailment.
